Japanese restaurant refurbishment in central Barcelona for the KEMO chain

At Cubic General Contractor, we delivered an impressive transformation of a Japanese restaurant located in central Barcelona. The project covers 400 square metres across two floors, focused on creating a bold, unique atmosphere that stands out for its decorative elements and sophisticated design.

Exposed concrete bar and decorative elements

One of the most striking features of the refurbishment is the imposing exposed concrete bar, which has become the heart of the restaurant. This element adds an industrial, modern touch to the space and serves as a focal point around which diners can gather and enjoy the culinary experience.

In addition, the bespoke lighting has been carefully designed to complement the restaurant’s aesthetic. Neon lights and other unique decorative elements create a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a memorable dining experience.

Bold, sophisticated atmosphere

Every corner of the restaurant has been crafted to deliver a unique visual and sensory experience. From seating to tables, everything has been selected and arranged to create a setting that reflects the essence of Japanese culture with a contemporary twist. Decorative details—hanging extinguishers and neon signs—add a distinctive personality to the space, making every visit special.

Two floors of enjoyment

The two-floor layout lets diners choose between different atmospheres. The ground floor offers a livelier space with direct access to the main bar, while the upper floor provides a quieter, more private environment, ideal for intimate dinners or special events.
