At Cubic General Contractor, part of Grupo Cubic, we continue our collaboration with the artisan empanada brand MUNS through the complete commercial unit refurbishment of its new venue at Barcelona’s Port Olímpic.

With a floor area of 80 square metres and a delivery timeline of 6 weeks, this project is an example of how to transform an empty unit into an operational, attractive commercial space aligned with the brand’s values.

Planning and adaptation to the Port Olímpic environment

Located in one of the city’s most emblematic areas, the new venue had to meet demanding regulatory requirements and maintain a polished public image. For that reason, the complete refurbishment of the venue was approached with particular attention to:

• Port Olímpic urban planning requirements.

• Technical conditions for hospitality venues in semi-open spaces.

• Architectural integration with the maritime and tourist setting.

This approach delivered a modern, functional space ready to receive hundreds of visitors a day.

Efficient layout and corporate interior design

The venue layout was designed to ensure a smooth flow between kitchen, counter and customer service area, without losing aesthetic identity.

• Compact yet fluid space, optimised for fast operations.

• Central service counter as the focal point of the customer journey.

• Use of resilient, easy-to-clean materials, with an aesthetic aligned with the rest of the brand’s venues.

The interior design follows MUNS’ visual language, combining natural wood, warm lighting and graphic elements that reinforce brand identity.

Comprehensive technical renewal

As in every complete commercial unit refurbishment, the technical upgrade was one of the project’s pillars:

• New electrical installation with efficient LED lighting.

• HVAC with compact, low-noise systems.

• Installation of extraction and ventilation to meet health regulations.

• Complete renewal of plumbing and drainage.

Each technical element was executed with precision, ensuring safety, functionality and energy efficiency.

Fast delivery without setbacks

The project was developed in a total timeline of 6 weeks, meeting the timetable exactly thanks to:

• Weekly coordination between site management and ownership.

• Continuous supervision of trades.

• Phased planning to ensure smooth delivery.

This pace allowed MUNS to start trading on the scheduled date, taking advantage of the high season at Port Olímpic.
